The paper “Revealing molecular-level surface redox sites of controllably oxidized black phosphorus” was published in Nature Materials. The story of this work was reported in the press such as Newsworks, astronomer, cfnews, amenews, and asiatime which has been entitled as “New materials for the future, phosphorene opens up the new avenue for energy storage devices”.
Prof. Park and research teams have discovered new surface functionalities on black phosphorus nanosheets for energy storage application. This work revealed the novel surface redox molecular-level mechanism of oxidized P sites which allowed fast and reversible charge storage and transport. All of the experiments have been done with the strong collaboration among SKKU, KBSI, KIST, Northwestern University, MIT, and the University of Cambridge.
